When we sit down and close our eyes to meditate, we make the effort to nurture stillness. Even for just one day, we actively create a peaceful refuge in a difficult world.
On this retreat, you’ll get experience of:
- meditation from a contemporary, secular approach
- creating a regular meditation habit
- an overview of the teachings of the man we know as the Buddha, Gotama;
- an understanding of how this all fits together, how useful it could be for us.
Bringing together these elements, we will explore ways to find refuge.
Led by Ramsey Margolis, the day will include sitting and walking meditation, silent reflection, a talk and small and large group discussion.
Taking time to explore your experience of your own meditative process, you’ll see the mind settle, start to let go of old habits and patterns, and develop new perspectives.
There’s no fixed fee for One Mindful Breath events, ensuring that no one who can’t afford to pay is turned away. You are invited to offer donations to the community and for the teachings, on the day or by bank transfer. For more on this please have look at onemindfulbreath.org.nz/cost.
