On the first Wednesday of each month, Beginners’ Mind offers you a chance to experience a short meditation practice. This evening’s session will be led by Alex Carr.
With the theme being kindness to both yourself and others, Alex will lead us through a loving kindness or metta meditation. The practice of loving kindness meditation has many tangible benefits – it can help resolve conflict within oneself (such as critical or negative self-talk) as well as help remove conflict with others, and allow us to develop a robust sense of inner peace.
We'll then talk about how things went, offer some hints and tips on creating a meditation habit, and answer any questions that may arise.
Whether you’ve never meditated before, or perhaps you tried but found it too hard, you’re most welcome to join us. You’ll find that you won’t be trying to ‘stop your thoughts’, and you are learning a useful skill.
Doors open at 7:15, we start at 7:30, and our evening together ends with tea and bikkies.
