Zooming in from Adelaide to be with us, Anna Markey writes:
‘As a child, I managed to construct my own practise by fostering confidence, curiosity and kindness through having an image of a hidden, secret teacher. Whatever happened to me, I felt, was being given as a lesson – no need to be regretful, just courageous. Over the years, the legacy of this image has held me in good stead, so now I encourage others to be their own teacher. This doesn’t enable us to be egotistical and impervious to the wisdom of others; on the contrary. It may facilitate the qualities needed to really deepen our practise so as to live a full and effective life.’
Anna will be joining us after a 30 minute meditation; she teaches open awareness meditation at Coast and City Sangha in Adelaide, South Australia.
