Starting and nurturing a regular meditation practice

  • Wellington Friends’ Centre 7 Moncrieff Street Mt Victoria, Wellington New Zealand (map)

In plain English on the first Wednesday of each month, Beginners’ Mind is the evening for those who’ve never (or rarely) meditated, one you can comfortably bring your friends to.

We’ll start with a short open awareness meditation led by Ramsey Margolis, and follow that with a discussion about how your meditation session went. We’ll then have a guided meditation on loving kindness led by Tracey Hickisey, and offer some hints and tips on creating a meditation habit.

So, whether you’ve never meditated before, or perhaps you tried but found it didn’t work for you, you’re most welcome to join us. You’ll find out you won’t be trying to ‘stop your thoughts,’ and that when you abandon goals you simply cannot do it wrong.

Doors open at 7:15, we start at 7:30 and our evening together ends with tea and biscuits.

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A SILLY QUESTION

If you’re unsure whether this is for you, or have any questions we suggest you get in touch – use the Contact form, or phone or text Pete on 022 610 2910.

Bookings not required, just turn up. And while there’s never a fixed fee for One Mindful Breath events, we welcome contributions towards the cost of future events and donations for the teachings. More on this here.
