This evening we will be having the first of eight discussions around a series of talks by Stephen Batchelor and Roshi Joan Halifax from a retreat titled Being Completely Human, Secular Buddhism and Beyond.
This course was offered at Upaya Zen Centre, Santa Fe, New Mexico last year and will engage those with a reasonable grasp of the basics of Buddhism, and an interest in developing your understanding of the fundamentals a secular approach to the Buddhadharma.
Prior to these meetings, we ask that you listen to recordings of the sessions and work through a study guide. Download the study material here (600MB of audio files and PDFs). To download just the course outline click here.
The venue for these discussions has yet to be decided; if you would like to take part in this study group, click here and send us an email. We will meet either in central Wellington or one of the southern suburbs.
Our thanks go to Christine Johnson of Upaya Sangha of Tucson, Arizona, for creating and sharing her study guides to this series of talks. Kia ora!
