The practice

From time to time

Friends and rellies may ask what meditation is all about.
When someone does asks us what on earth we do on a Wednesday evening, and what our practice is about, well, we tell them that:
It’s about concentration
It’s about being able to pause, and respond, rather than just react
It’s about generosity
It’s about ethical behaviour
It’s about gaining insight through a focused self-observation
It’s about the cultivation of compassion and unconditional friendliness, or love, based on that insight
And it’s about translating that compassion, and love, into action in this world
